WELCOME
Welcome to the Whitby and District Model Flying Club web site. The club has a flying site at Goldsborough and is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association(BMFA). The site is 4.5 miles from Whitby centre in North Yorkshire. If you are already a member you will find useful information here such as current weather at the field, any events planned either by Whitby or other clubs, changes in club rules and regulations etc as well as existing club rules. If you are new to model flying or merely interested in model aircraft you will find information here about the local Whitby club and about the hobby that may tempt you take it up and come and join us. The current members have a wealth of knowledge and many models. Although fixed wing models are more prevalent there is significant interest in helicopters, drones and FPV (First Person View). We are able to provide some fixed wing training and there is a dual control system available in order to avoid inevitable learning crashes.
Driving from Lythe our flying site is on the right hand side of the road between Lythe and Goldsborough about halfway between the two villages. Full details are on the Find Us page and a layout of the site is on the Safety page.
