There is the facility for training although the number of instructors is limited. The club does own training models and there is a buddy box system available whereby the student's controller and the instructor's controller are linked together so that if the student gets into difficulties the instructor can take over instantly. The BMFA produce an excellent handbook which is well worth reading and can be found online on the BMFA website.
With prior arrangement we can arrange for newcomers to have a trial flight at the field before committing to taking up the hobby and joining the club.
If you own a computer there are a number of radio control flight simulators commercially available that can be used with a compatible transmitter which can provide a tremendous saving of balsa when first starting.
